Bhai Gurdas Ji Library

The Library is situated in the basement level of the main Gurdwara Sahib building.

The primary purpose of the Library is to provide books, periodicals, videos, and other materials relating to Sikhism to the Library patrons. It is well stocked and is continually updated with new books and other resources. Books and other items are catalogued and are available to patrons at no cost.

Library resources include hundreds of books, videos, DVDs, assorted CDs and other material on:

  • Sikh philosophy

  • Sikh history

  • Sikh diaspora

  • Spirituality

  • Translations of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

  • Life stories of Guru Sahibs

  • Children’s readers

  • Punjabi novels

  • Writings of eminent Sikh scholars

  • Reference books (which are not issued out but only available for use in the Library)

​Many books for children and young adults are both in English and Punjabi with some books in Hindi as well. Illustrated books for children are also available.

We encourage patronage of the Library and welcome suggestions for improvement from the patrons.


Borrowing Criteria

- Registration is required before books etc can be borrowed. Please print and complete the registration form by downloading from this link, (Link), and bring it to the library for quick registration.

- On registration library membership cards are issued to patrons

- Patrons may borrow books etc. for 21 days (which may be renewed once for another 21 days provided there are no holds on the item concerned).

The library opening hours are:

  • Saturday: 6 pm - 8 pm

  • Sunday: 11 am - 1 pm
